“My Mother Also Used To Be A Feminist” is a performance piece which includes: objects, body, action, and sound. The performer brushed the mirror hair repetitively with broken combs for one hour. The sound is 2 voices reading text in Hebrew and English-- a poem by Yona Wallach ‘Hebrew’ and ‘Boy you are my girlfriend’.  Brushing hair is a daily action that distinguishes gender roles. The action is a knowledge taught between women. Language conveys knowledge taught between people. All of those unquestionable, casual, actions educate us toward a culture of binaries.
